Dr Prasanna Vadhanan graduated from Thanjavur Medical College and specialized in Anaesthesiology with special interest in Pain Medicine.

With over 16 years of experience in managing acute and chronic pain, he was awarded a Post Graduate Diploma in Pain Management from Cardiff University, Wales, UK.

He has worked in AIIMS, New Delhi and currently occupies the position of Professor and Head of the Department of Anaesthesiology and Pain Medicine. His academic achievements include numerous orations, lectures, and workshop resource person in many Anaesthesia and Pain conferences. He has done pioneering work in facial pain conditions.

One of the earliest physicians to incorporate ultrasound in nerve blocks and pain management, he routinely performs various ultrasound and image guided interventions for many chronic pain conditions.
